WAEC Vowel Sound questions

Attempt each question before checking its correct answer and explanation.

Choose the word that has the same vowel sound as the one represented by the letter(s) underlined.

WAEC English 2010 (1)

A. tilt

The “-ee-” in “teeth” has the long vowel /ɪ:/ sound and only the “-ea-” in “peace” has the same sound. Other options have the short /ɪ/ sound instead.
