Visiting TRCN state office
While TRCN has digitized most of its processes, the physical State offices is key.
Whether you seek to register in-person, resolve a portal error, or lodge a complaint knowing how to interact with these offices is key to a stress-free experience.
This guide explains why you might need to visit a physical office and how to ensure your visit is successful.
1. Why visit a physical TRCN office
- In-Person assistance: Some TRCN issues just need a physical human intervention, beyond online portal.
- Certificate and license collection: TRCN does not yet dispatch “hardcopy” certificates to residential addresses. They’re distributed only through the state office where you registered.
- Lodge a complaint: Going all the way to complain at a physical office has a bit more urgency and gets immediate feedback than just sending it online.
2. Best times to visit
Most TRCN offices follow official government working hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday).
But during registration peak periods, these offices can become crowded.
So, aim to arrive between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM.
Because “verification and submission” are often done in the morning, while the focus shifts to “administrative sorting” in the afternoon.
If possible, avoid Fridays as closing hours can be shorter due to communal prayers.
3. ‘State Office’ vs. ‘CBT Centre’
A common mistake candidates make is going to the CBT centre to resolve registration issues.
- The State office is for administration, fee verification and certificate collection.
- The CBT centre is only for the examination itself.
Always check the offices listed below to ensure you’re going to the administrative office and not an EXAM VENUE.

- Original and 2 photocopies of your academic credentials

5. Troubleshooting portal issues physically
If you have a “pending” payment on the Remita portal for more than 48 hours, DO NOT pay again.
Take your RRR or bank receipt to the State Office.
They have a backend access to confirm your transaction and manually update your status to “Successful.”
