Does California accept Praxis scores?

California does not accept Praxis exams for teacher licensure.

Only Praxis Speech-Language Pathology test is recognized in California for certification.

California uses the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) to license teachers in every other subject area.

What are the passing scores for Praxis in California?

Passing scores in California are 162 for each of the two required Praxis subjects.

If your subject is not on the list, California does not require it.

How are Praxis scores calculated and reported?

Praxis tests are scored on a 100-200 scale, based on the number of correct responses.

Your unofficial score appears right after your test, while the official scores are posted on your ETS dashboard within 7-20 days afterwards.

What if I don’t meet the passing score in California?

If you don’t meet the required score, you can retake the Praxis test after a 28-day waiting period.
